Description

Khambhalia is a city and a municipality in Jamnagar district in the Indiastate of Gujarat. It is the second biggest town after Jamnagar city in the District.

Demographics

Khambhalia has a population of approximately 150,000. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Khambhalia has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 62%. In Khambhalia, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Geography

Khambhalia is a very old city with an old and still damaged partial Kille bandhi. You may find it on your way to famous Dwarka. You have to go through it if you are to travel to Salaya (a notorious port ages ago).
There are some public places like Aradhna Dham (11 km away on the highway to Jamnagar), Ghee dam, Jadeshwar tekri, Khamnath (area in rivers way with some temples), Maa Khodiyar Mandir (Goddess temple). Nagar Gate, Jodhpur Gate, Satvara Choro and Darbar Gadh (Main market) Betk Road, Station road, Rajda Road, Char Rasta (four ways) are the main areas of the town.

Industries

Khambhalia is famous for ghee. Ghee is exported to various town and cities of whole India. Also the brinjals (aubergine) of khambhalia is very famous. There are 35 ground nut factories. This city's second name is 'Buttor City'. Jayant khatri's dabeli is very famous.Beside these there is an exclusive complete family showroow 'SHREE HIND CLOTH STORE' which popular in entire jamnagar dristict. Industry for woodworking machinery is growing very fast. There are many big companies like Essar & Reliance near Khambhalia. It is about 35 km away from the city and also small companies like Shri Nataraj Ceramic & Chemical Industries and Ashapura Mine Chem Ltd. Two item is very famous (1) GHEE (2) RINGNA (aubergine), whenever you get time to go there you must collect these two items from Khambhaliya.
